Ingredients (4-6 Servings)
- 1lb ground pork
- 1lb ground beef
- 1 yellow onion
- ¼ cup bread crumbs
- 2 eggs
- 3oz vegetable oil
- 12oz Saddleback BBQ Sweet and Savory Barbecue Sauce
- 2 stalks scallions
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup salt
- ⅛ cup chili powder
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- .5 tablespoon granulated garlic
- .5 tablespoon onion powder
Instructions
- Mix all dry spices in a bowl. set aside
- Dice 1 yellow onion add to separate mixing bowl.
- Add 1lb ground pork, 1lb ground beef, bread crumbs, eggs and ¼ of the spice mixture to the bowl with the yellow onion. Mix well.
- Roll into 3 ounce balls (golf ball size).
- In a frying pan heat 3 ounces of vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Brown all sides of every meatball then place meatballs in crockpot.
- Cover with 10 oz of Saddleback BBQ Sweet and Savory Barbecue Sauce and cook on low for 2 hours or until meatballs reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
- Remove with tongs cover meatballs with extra 2 oz of sauce and garnish with scallions.
